Job Description
As the Solution Architect (SAP BW/BI), you will play a pivotal role in driving the analytics strategy of our organization, collaborating closely with business leaders to deliver innovative solutions that meet their evolving needs. Your primary responsibility will be to lead SAP BW/BI analytics solution implementations and product adoptions, fostering trust and building strong relationships with functional departments.
Essential Functions
Functional
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with functional leaders to shape analytics strategies aligned with business objectives. Serve as the primary liaison for functional departments, providing clear direction and accountability to ensure the delivery of analytics solutions that drive business success.
- Solution Advocacy: Advocate for existing analytics solutions and identify opportunities for additional value delivery across business units. Showcase the capabilities of SAP BW/BI and SAP Cloud Technologies to maximize its impact on decision-making processes.
- Stakeholder Guidance: Offer trusted guidance to business stakeholders to maximize the value of analytics. Develop a deep understanding of the organization's operations and how analytics support day-to-day decision-making processes.
- Relationship Cultivation: Cultivate strong relationships with functional business leaders, fostering collaboration and alignment between IT and business objectives.
- Demand Shaping and Road mapping: Play an active role in shaping demand for analytics solutions and defining analytics roadmaps. Manage analytics project delivery and vendors effectively to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Team Leadership: Leads day to day activities of an Analyst (SAP BW/BI) as the primary support point of contact and works to develop analyst into more solution development and hands on implementation activities.
Technical
- Solution Development and Support: Analyze, design, develop, and support initiatives to deliver SAP BW solutions, empowering end users with reporting capabilities and enabling advanced reporting development and data analysis by power users and Business Intelligence analysts.
- Implement solutions in alignment with business needs, leveraging SAP product capabilities effectively.
- Business Needs Alignment: Understand business requirements and lead design discussions to ensure solutions meet those needs in a standardized manner, maximizing the utilization of SAP product capabilities.
- Hands-On Implementation: Lead hands-on development and implementation of BW/BI and SAP Cloud Technologies (i.e. Datasphere) solutions, focusing on complex business units such as Retail Store Operations, Product Distribution and Supply Chain, and Financials.
- KPI Definition and Reporting: Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and define reports and dashboards to track them effectively.
- Standards and Quality Assurance: Define technical and functional standards, ensuring delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, and business requirements, as well as adheres to best practices.
- Operational Support: Provide daily operational support for BW/BI applications and infrastructure, including platform support, monitoring, capacity and utilization management, application security, end user support, training, and documentation.
- Technical Documentation: Develop and document technical architecture, system design, and other technical aspects of the implementation to ensure clarity and maintainability.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Execute and lead the testing process, including unit and integration testing, to ensure the quality and reliability of the implemented solutions.
- Vendor Management: Aid in the management of third-party vendors, ensuring alignment with project objectives and adherence to quality standards.
- Strategy and Roadmap Planning: Provide support to management regarding strategy and roadmap planning in the BW/BI area, leveraging expertise to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in data warehousing and business intelligence with emphasis on business requirements analysis, application design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
- Experience in ensuring the data architecture and reporting strategy supports the business requirements.
- Strong experience of SAP BW/4HANA and SAP Bl tools (Analysis for Office, Business Objects).
- Experience with new SAP cloud technologies like SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere, SAP BTP etc.
- Ability to manage and lead big projects/strategic initiatives independently.
- Experience that spans design to hands-on configuration and development of the solution. Experience in complex SAP environments.

Salary Range: $145,000-175,000
